Meet Cherie

Cherie Flores owns and runs Gold Country K9 Academy. She started in dogs before grad school back, well, a long time ago! :) She was in Search and Rescue for approximately 15 years with 2 different Search Dogs. She competes at an international level in Schutzhund/ IPO/IGP. She has trained service dogs and family companions full time for the past 10 years while competing.

Cherie believes in teaching the dog through positive reinforcement, but recognizes the need to polish with some pressure. She can guide you through using the least amount of pressure possible, but as much as necessary to meet your goals. She has successfully worked with all types of dogs. She has worked with amazing family companions, dogs with mild to extreme aggression issues and dogs in working venues such as service dog, SAR dogs, and Sport Dogs.
